Korean People's Struggle Supported in Bangladesh

Pyongyang, November 1 (KCNA) -- Political figures of Bangladesh issued statements on October 25 and 27 as regards the answers General Secretary Kim Jong Il gave to questions put by ITAR-TASS of Russia.

Garib Newaz, president of the Bangladesh People's League, said:

In his answers Kim Jong Il said the DPRK-Russia summit meeting and talks in Ulan-Ude marked an important occasion in further developing the bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation to meet the desire and wishes of the peoples of the two countries.

In particular, he made clear the issues of the denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula and the resumption of the six-party talks.

The nuclear issue on the peninsula was spawned by the U.S. posing constant threat to the sovereignty and security of the Korean people.

The DPRK's access to nuclear deterrent was for defending its sovereignty from the U.S. undisguised nuclear threat and escalated hostile policy.

The DPRK government remains unchanged in its principled stand to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula by resuming the six-party talks without preconditions and implementing the September 19 joint statement on the principle of simultaneous actions.

We will always extend full support to the Korean party, army and people in the efforts to build a prosperous and powerful socialist country, the lifelong desire of President Kim Il Sung, and achieve the peaceful national reunification.

It is the behest of Kim Il Sung and the DPRK government's consistent stand to denuclearize the whole Korean Peninsula, said Rashed Khan Menon, chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Bangladesh. We extend support and solidarity to the Korean people in the cause of its materialization, he added.
