Pyongyang, October 31 (KCNA) -- A professor of Yonsei University of south Korea called for implementing the north-south joint declarations, south Korea's Yonhap News reported.

Speaking at a seminar held at the press center in Seoul Wednesday, Mun Jong In said, "It is difficult to overcome the present catastrophic situation with the government's concept towards the north like theory of collapse of the north".

Mun said the north and the south of Korea in a declaration adopted in October 4, 2007 agreed to establish a peaceful special zone of cooperation in the west sea including Haeju area and surrounding waters for joint fishing and economic development.

The south side should make efforts to put the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration into practice, the professor added.
