Kim Jong Il Sends Birthday Present to Russian Musician

Pyongyang, October 28 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il sent a present to Professor Stanislav Kalinin, dean of the Conducting Faculty of the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Russia, on his 70th birthday.

The presentation ceremony took place at the DPRK embassy in Moscow on Oct. 27.

Present there on invitation were Vladimir Sukhanov, director for the International Cooperation Department of the Conservatory, and Composer Nikolai Druzhenkov.

Om Ha Jin, rector of Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun Conservatory, Ambassador Kim Yong Jae and other staff members of the DPRK embassy attended.

The present was handed over to the professor.

He, reflecting warm feelings of himself and his family, extended sincere thanks to Kim Jong Il, a great man of the world and outstanding statesman, for sending the wonderful birthday present, busy as he was with the guidance of the overall work of the party, the state and the army.

He said he and his family wholeheartedly wish Kim Jong Il good health and greater successes in his work for the happiness of the Korean people and the prosperity of the country.
