Moscow, October 25 (KCNA) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov, when interviewed by major broadcasting services on October 21, warned against the United States' moves to deploy the missile defense system in Europe.

He declared in case radar and interceptor means are deployed near the border of the country, the general staff of the Russian armed forces would take corresponding military and technical measures.

Such measures would be inevitable when the existing equilibrium of strategic stability is upset by the U.S. program, he added.

He clarified the Russian government's stand that it invariably urges the U.S. to provide a clear guarantee with a legal commitment that its MD in Europe would not be leveled at the strategic nuclear deterrent means of Russia.
