Sino-DPRK Cooperation Will Grow Stronger: Chinese Official

Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- Deputy Administrator Yu Xinwen of the China Meteorological Administration had an interview with journalists in Pyongyang on Friday during his visit to the DPRK.

The traditional Sino-DPRK friendly relations are developing with each passing day, he said, and went on:

The scientific and technological exchange and cooperation in meteorology have long developed between the two countries.

This is unthinkable without the friendly relations between the two countries.

General Secretary Kim Jong Il visited China several times this year to exchange in-depth views with General Secretary Hu Jintao before reaching an important agreement.

Exchange and cooperation in meteorology between the two countries have further developed in recent years.

The meteorological work is closely related to the development of economy and the improvement of people's living standard.

I am sure that the cooperation between the two countries will grow stronger.

We were deeply moved to witness the Korean people's struggle, Yu said, adding:

We hope that the Korean people would make long strides in the drive to achieve economic progress and improve the people's living standard.

We will steadily boost exchange and cooperation with the State Hydro-Meteorological Administration of the DPRK and thus actively contribute to promoting the development of the Sino-DPRK friendly relations.
