Important Days of DPRK Observed Abroad

Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- Events took place in different countries between Oct. 6 and 12 to mark the 66th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 85th anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union. They included meetings, film shows and photo exhibitions in Laos, Kyrgyzstan and Peru.

On display in the exhibition halls were photos on the undying feats performed by President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il for party building.

Korean films shown included "The Korean People's Army, Steel-Strong Ranks".

The chairman of the Laos-Korea Friendship Association said that Kim Il Sung founded the WPK and made signal successes by wisely leading the Korean revolution and the people of the DPRK.

Under the guidance of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il the WPK developed into a party solid and strong in organizational and ideological aspects and firmly adhered to the socialist idea, he said.

The WPK has won victory after victory because it thoroughly applied the Juche idea, founded by the President, in all fields and adhered to the principle of independence in politics, self-support in the economy and self-reliance in national defence, he noted.

The chairman of the Central Council of the People Unity-"Kyrgys El" Republican Political Party of Kyrgyzstan said that the formation of the DIU by the President on Oct. 17, 1926, was a historic event of great significance in the development of the Korean revolution. The Korean revolution which started with the DIU has dynamically advanced along the road of independence, Songun and unity, he added.

Only victory and glory are always in store for socialist Korea as Kim Jong Il leads the Korean revolution, he stressed.

A message of greetings to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting held in Peru.
