S. Korean Authorities' Call for "Adherence to Principles" Dismissed--Rodong Sinmu

Pyongyang, October 21 (KCNA) -- The south Korean chief executive, in a recent "parliamentary policy speech" read by the prime minister, claimed that it was necessary to hold a principled north-south dialogue and create resources for unification.

His remarks are indicative of his intention not to make a switchover in the "keynote of his policy toward the north", says a bylined commentary of DPRK major paper Rodong Sinmun Friday.

It says:

Prior to his "policy speech", Chon Yong U, senior presidential secretary for diplomatic and security affairs of Chongwadae, again called for showing "sincerity for denuclearization" and making an "apology" for the warship "Cheonan" case and Yonphyong Island shelling incident.

Kim Thae Hyo, senior presidential secretary for external strategy of Chongwadae, talked nonsense that the north could make a "military provocation" in case the negotiations for resuming the six-party talks fail.

The remarks recently made by the south Korean conservative group show its willingness to stand in confrontation with the DPRK to the last to serve its sinister purposes, indifferent to the fundamental change in the "north policy".

The "principled dialogue" touted by the south Korean chief executive is little short of an open declaration to keep his current "policy toward north".

Before claiming someone's "sincerity" and "provocations", the south Korean authorities should show their honest will to mend the fence with the DPRK by rolling back the confrontation policy, to begin with, and halt the reckless war drills dangerous enough to bring a nuclear war.

The south Korean conservative group's much-touted "principled dialogue" is part of the desperate efforts of those who are in trouble due to the total failure of the "policy toward north".

The south Korean authorities will be left out in the cold for their unwise and persistent call for "adherence to principles".
