Multimedia Introduces Tangun Mausoleum

Pyongyang, October 20 (KCNA) -- College of Information Technology affiliated to Kim Chaek University of Technology made a multimedia introducing the mausoleum of Tangun, ancestral father of the Korean nation. Tangun founded Ancient Korea, the first state in the East.

The mausoleum in Munhung-ri, Kangdong County, Pyongyang was reconstructed in October Juche 83 (1994).

The mausoleum consists of three parts -- a monument to the reconstructed mausoleum, stone sculptures and central area.

The sculptures portray Tangun's sons and subjects close to the king.

The central area is 101.7m long and 97.5m wide.

The tomb is above a platform which is 84m in length and 80m in width, surrounded by a stone table, stone incense burner, stone tiger sculptures, a pair of stone posts and a tower depicting pipha-shaped dagger, a typical weapon of Ancient Korea.

Tangun's portrait is on the front wall of the chamber and coffins of the king and queen are on the floor of the chamber.

The multimedia shows the mausoleum and historical relics near it and gives an explanation that Tangun was proved in a scientific way to be a real human being, not a myth, under deep care of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
