Authorities' Racket of Repression Censured in S. Korea

Pyongyang, October 20 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Democracy, People's Life, Peaceful Reunification and Sovereignty in south Korea in a commentary on Monday sneered at the pitiable plight of the present "government" staking its fate on the fascist repression.

The "government" is now intensifying the crackdown by dint of the prosecution, police and court, it charged.

On Oct. 12 the prosecution authorities asked again for warrants of arrest for members of the Solidarity including its co-chairman and secretary general.

On Oct. 14 the Seoul Central District Court sentenced a former member of the National Reunification Committee of the south Korean Federation of University Student Councils to three and a half years of imprisonment and three years of suspension of qualification. It branded his legitimate activities for north-south exchange as "spying".

Meanwhile the police searched the houses of four students or graduates of Hanyang University.

Recalling these facts, the commentary stated that any repressive move can never flee from stern punishment by the people.

The crackdown by the poor "government" on the verge of collapse will only arouse stronger resistance from the people, it warned.
