Proposal for Founding DFRK Supported Abroad

Pyongyang, October 19 (KCNA) -- The African Regional Committee of Friendship and Solidarity with the Korean People released a statement on October 10 on the 31st anniversary of the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo (DFRK).

The statement said:

President Kim Il Sung set forth the proposal on reunifying the country by founding the DFRK 31 years ago.

The proposal by federal formula is fair and aboveboard one.

The Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government have made positive efforts to realize the proposal.

Hessou Kohovi, chairman of the Benin-Korea Amicable Association "Long Live Kim Jong Il, Supreme Leader" who doubles as chairman of the Benin National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea and of General Kim Jong Il's Works, noted in his statement on October 12:

It is the essence of the DFRK proposal to leave the ideas and systems existing in the north and the south of Korea as they are and found a federal state based on one nation, one state, two systems and two governments.

This proposal reflecting the specific reality of the Korean Peninsula is officially recognized as the most reasonable and fair and aboveboard one. But the south Korean authorities try to make their idea and system absolute ones and force the other party to accept them.

Following is our answer to a question of whether we support the south Korean authorities' strategy of "Unification" aimed at confrontation and war or the reunification by federal system aimed at reconciliation and peace.

We express firm support and solidarity with the government and people of the DPRK in their struggle to achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country.
