Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- The U.S. federal budget deficit stood at $1,298.6 billion in fiscal 2011 through September, up 0.3 percent from the previous year and topping the $1 trillion mark for the third consecutive year, the Treasury Department said Friday.

For the 27-nation EU, trade balance for August 2011 recorded a deficit of 17.8 billion euro, the European Union's (EU) statistics bureau Eurostat said on Friday.
