Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- Korean book, photo and fine art exhibitions were opened in Russia, Mexico and Bulgaria between October 5 and 8 to mark the 66th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 85th anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union.

On display in their venues were photos showing the immortal exploits and noble personality of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, celebrated works authored by them and other Korean books and fine art pieces.

Speeches were made at the opening ceremonies.

The president of Ecatepec University of Technology of Mexico said that the DPRK is the only country squarely standing against the arbitrary and high-handed practices of the U.S.

Kim Jong Il has further strengthened the DPRK into an independent state by wisely leading the Workers' Party of Korea, he added.
