GIs' Sexual Assaults against S. Korean Girl Students Slammed

Tokyo, October 16 (KNS-KCNA) -- Kang Chu Ryon, chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union in Japan, issued a statement on October 14 assailing the brutal atrocities committed by the U.S. imperialist aggressive forces present in south Korea.

She said that all the officials of the union and Korean women in Japan cannot repress surging indignation at the thrice-cursed sexual assaults perpetrated by the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces against teenage girl students of south Korea.

The period since the U.S. occupation of south Korea is a history of bloodshed and crimes as it has brought unspeakable misfortune and disasters to the Korean nation, she said, and went on:

This goes to prove that such monstrous atrocities as sexual assaults against girl students will never cease as long as the U.S. imperialist aggressors are allowed to stay in south Korea.

It is quite natural for the people of social standings including the women in south Korea to strongly demand the U.S. president's apology for sexual abuses, the revision of the unequal SOFA and punishment of GIs' criminals.

On the same day, the Korean Students Committee in Japan in a statement bitterly slammed the atrocities committed by U.S. soldiers in south Korea as never-to-be condoned hideous crimes against humanity.

The dream and hope of the south Korean youth and students will be dashed mercilessly and such tragedy as the murder of Hyo Sun and Mi Son will repeat itself as long as south Korea remains a colony of the U.S., the humiliating SOFA retains its force and the group of pro-U.S. sycophants and traitors stay in power.

The union will firmly solidarize with the south Korean youth and students in a nation-wide struggle to terminate the U.S. military presence and colonial rule over south Korea and bring down the pro-U.S. sycophantic regime, said the statement.
