Moscow, October 16 (KCNA) -- Russia and Laos called for an early resumption of the six-party talks on the nuclear issue of the Korean peninsula, Russia's ITAR-TASS reported on Thursday.

The Russian and Lao presidents made the call in a declaration on strategic partnership adopted after their talks in Kremlin.

In the declaration both sides supported the international effort to coordinate the nuclear issue of the Korean peninsula in a peaceful and political way, the report said.
