U.S. Arms Sale to S. Korea Slammed

Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- The United States sold off 0.6 billion dollar worth of conventional weapons to south Korea last year, according to U.S. Congressional Research Service report. This year it has delivered sophisticated arms to south Korea.

Rodong Sinmun Monday says in a by-lined commentary in this regard:

The arms sale is aimed to arm the south Korean puppet forces with the U.S.-made weapons and use them as a shock brigade in a war against the DPRK. It is also a serious military provocation to plunge the Korean Peninsula into a crucible of war.

The U.S. seeks to escalate the arms race in Northeast Asia and realize their shameless hegemonic ambition at the sacrifice of the Korean nation. Herein lie the danger and severity of the U.S. imperialists' arms sale.

The U.S. criminal moves strain the situation and disturb peace in various regions of the world including the Korean Peninsula.

Through the arms sale the U.S. intends to pocket a nice sum, spark and escalate disputes and arms race in different regions of the world and round off the preparations for aggression and war.

The U.S. nature of aggression and hegemonic ambition never allow it to delve into disarmament, peace and stability.

Its rhetoric about "disarmament" and "peace" is just hypocrisy and sheer lie.

With no trite artifice can the U.S. ever cover up its nature as an arch criminal disturbing peace and stability and sparking arms race in the Korean Peninsula and rest of the world.
