Teheran, October 16 (KCNA) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi at an interview on October 12 strongly rebuked the U.S. assertion that Iran hatched an assassination plot against the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the U.S.

The U.S. groundless assertion is aimed to turn the regional situation in its favor and find a way-out of a crisis at home caused by the massive demonstration of the people protesting the government's wrong policy.

The assassination story, the U.S. brainchild, will bring it only shame and failure, he stressed.
