Actions against Plunder by Capital Staged in S. Korea

Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- At a time when anti-Wall Street demonstrations are going global after they were kicked off against exploitation and oppression by capital in the U.S., similar actions were staged in Seoul on Saturday.

A demonstration that took place in Youido, a center of financial capital, was participated in by members of more than 400 civic organizations and workers.

They said the privileged and rich who account for just one percent of the south Korean population are exploiting the majority of south Korean people.

They called for struggling against the exploitation by the greedy capitalists by concerted efforts.

People from all walks of life gathered in the plaza of Seoul Railway Station to call for eradication of poverty.

The participants in a meeting outside the U.S. embassy denounced the monstrous atrocities committed by the U.S. imperialist aggressor troops present in south Korea.

A huge crowd of people who staged similar demonstrations in different parts of Seoul gathered in front of the Deogsu Palace Saturday evening to hold a meeting.

They assailed the present authorities for enforcing such a pro-rich policy as reducing taxes of the rich.

They demanded a solution to the issues of registration fee and unemployment of young people.

They declared opposition to the conclusion of the humiliating FTA with the U.S.

The protestors shouted the slogan "Occupy Seoul".
