Beijing, October 13 (KCNA) -- Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the Communist Party of China, Tuesday called for following the spirit of Ye Zhiping.

Speaking at a meeting with members of the group for survey of Ye's good deeds in Beijing, Li said the whole society should be replete with the spirit of loving one's working place and job, respecting teachers and attaching importance to education.

Ye, who was a secondary school headmaster, devoted himself to education in a rural community for 36 years.
