Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- Events took place in Italy, Denmark, Bulgaria and India between Oct. 5 and 6 on the occasions of the 66th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 85th anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU).

On display in the venues of the events were works of President Kim Il Sung and general secretary Kim Jong Il, photos showing the exploits performed by the peerlessly great men in founding and developing the WPK, etc.

A secretary of Rieti Branch of the Communist Party of Italy said that the WPK has wisely led the Korean people at all times as an organizer and guide of all victories, stressing the WPK headed by General Secretary Kim Jong Il would achieve greater success in the struggle for the country's prosperity and realizing the cause of reunification while consistently adhering to the revolutionary principle.

Anders Kristensen, chairman of the Denmark-DPRK Friendship Association, said:

The WPK has been able to record its history with victories for such a long period as it has regarded the Juche idea as its guiding ideology, holding President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in high esteem.

No one can block the way before the Korean people as long as there are Songun politics pursued by Kim Jong Il and the WPK which achieved single-minded unity of all members of the society.

The acting curator of Kim Il Sung Library in Sofia of Bulgaria noted that under the leadership of the WPK the Korean people have turned their country into a socialist power which has firmly adhered to the principle independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence by embodying the Juche idea founded by Kim Il Sung.

Messages of greetings to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the meetings in Demark and Bulgaria.
