S. Korea's Fascist Politics Flailed

Pyongyang, October 13 (KCNA) -- The Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea issued information bulletin No. 983 Thursday as regards the fact that the south Korean puppet group of conservatives has bolstered fascist repressive mechanism and bred whole gamut of anti-DPRK plots, clamping down on the progressive forces in the face of its serious ruling crisis following total domestic and foreign policy failure.

The information bulletin says:

The group of conservatives has staffed the Intelligence Service, Judicial Affairs Department, Supreme Court, Prosecutor's Office, Police Agency and other repressive bodies with ultra-right elements ill famed for the suppression of people under the pretext of public security. It even forced intelligence organs of the puppet army to keep track of civilians while massively adjusting and replenishing political watch and anti-DPRK plot-breeding organizations.

It openly declared a war with pro-north left-wing elements while faking up anti-DPRK farces including the "story of assassination", "underground tunnel" and "spy ring case". It even revived the measure council for public security which earned an ill fame in the period of military dictatorship and has kicked off the suppression of progressive forces. Its brutal crackdown on peaceable protesters demanding the right to existence has created security-oriented political situation reminiscent of that during the military fascist dictatorship.

This is a last-ditch effort to weaken anti-"government" forces and tide over the ruling crisis by creating terror-ridden atmosphere and thus turn the "election" situation in its favor and remain in power.

The puppet group has only done sycophantic treachery of leaving the nation's dignity, interests and even the people's lives to the mercy of outsiders. It has pursued unprecedented unpopular rule, turning south Korea into a land with the world's worst human rights record and a dark land where fascism stalks.

Its unprecedented anti-DPRK confrontational racket and war moves totally marred the north-south relations that had favorably developed after the advent of the June 15 era.

The people are mired in destitution and it is hard to find even a dreg of democracy and human rights in south Korea while the north-south relations have hit their lowest ebb, inching close to the brink of war after going beyond the phase of hostility, discord and confrontation.

The south Koreans' hatred and wrath against the group is running high and voices cursing it are heard even from the present ruling conservative forces.

The group is seriously mistaken if it thinks it can quench the voices of angered people, tide over the crisis and realize its ambition to stay in power through anti-DPRK smear campaign and fascist repression.

The "story of assassination", "underground tunnel", "spy ring case", etc. touted by the group of traitors are arousing derision and denunciation for their falsity and hypocrisy, increasing the people's disillusion and aversion for it.

High-handed practices, suppression and political frauds can never help it bar the people from advancing toward independence, democracy and reunification nor tide over the ruling crisis. It will only precipitate its ruin.

The group should stop security-oriented politics, aware that its persistent fascist rule and confrontation with fellow countrymen would hasten stern punishment of it by the nation.
