Pyongyang, October 13 (KCNA) -- Mauricio Funes, president of El Salvador, in a conversation with Mahmoud Abbas, chief of the Palestinian National Authority, on October 9 clarified the stand supporting the founding of the Palestinian independent state.

It is the hope of El Salvador that Palestine's joining the UN would be realized at an early date and that the relationship between the two countries would be strengthened, he said.
