DPRK's Important Days Marked Abroad

Pyongyang, October 13 (KCNA) -- Seminars, lectures, photo exhibitions, book, photo and handicraft exhibitions and film shows were held in Britain, Mexico, Brazil and Guinea between September 29 and October 7 on the 66th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 85th anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU).

Displayed in their venues were works of President Kim Il Sung and general secretary Kim Jong Il, photos on the undying feats they performed in leading the party building, books and photos introducing Songun Korea and handicrafts associated with the creative skills of the Korean people.

The chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist) and other speakers explained and proved that Kim Il Sung founded the WPK and strengthened it into an invincible party by creatively applying the preceding theories in keeping with the realistic requirements of the Korean revolution.

The general secretary of the Central Committee of the New Communist Party of Britain noted that the formation of the DIU was a historic event which provided the roots for founding the WPK. The experience in building the WPK serves as precious guidelines for all the revolutionaries of Britain and the rest of the world, he added.

The chairman of the Coordinating Committee of the British Friends of the DPRK said that the reelection of Kim Jong Il as general secretary of the WPK last year marked a political event which demonstrated once again before the world the solidity of the political foundation of the DPRK and the invincibility of socialism.

The international secretary of the Brazilian Communist Party stressed that his party would hold multifarious political and cultural events on the centenary of birth of Kim Il Sung and always express support and solidarity for the cause of the WPK and the Korean people in the joint struggle against imperialism.

The film shown was Korean film "Pyongyang Today."

A congratulatory message and letter to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the events held in Guinea and Britain.
