Severe Punishment of GIs Demanded in S. Korea

Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Solidarity for Democracy, People's Life, Peaceful Reunification and Sovereignty in a statement on Oct. 8 demanded the severe punishment of GIs who made sexual attacks on teen-age schoolgirls in south Korea.

It said the recent sexual assaults against schoolgirls in Tongduchon of Kyonggi Province and Seoul are triggering a wrath from the people.

The statement branded the crimes as intentional ones.

It also called for imposing heavy penalty on the criminals.

As long as the south Korea-U.S. "Status of Forces Agreement" exists, such crimes will never cease, the statement noted.

It urged the U.S. president to make an immediate apology to the south Korean people for the present situation in which the GIs trifle with south Korean women and commit whole gamut of crimes.
