Pyongyang, October12 (KCNA) -- Celebrations took place in different countries on the 66th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 85th anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union. They included meetings, book and photo exhibitions, film shows and art performances in Myanmar, Dominica, Sweden and Thailand on Sept. 30 and Oct. 5.

Displayed in the venues of the events were works of President Kim Il Sung and general secretary Kim Jong Il, photos on their leadership feats for party building and pictures introducing the real picture of the DPRK.

Films shown included "The Tower of the Juche Idea" and "Four Seasons in Pyongyang."

The deputy chief of the Yangon Regional Committee of the Solidarity and Development Party of the Union of Myanmar said that the WPK founded by Kim Il Sung is leading to victory the Korean people in their struggle to achieve country's prosperity under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.

Ivan Rodriguez, general secretary of the Revolutionary Alternative Party of Dominica, noted that the DPRK is fully exercising its sovereignty in the international arena and working miracles in the building of an economic power under the wise guidance of the WPK headed by Kim Jong Il.

Songchit Pullarp, chairman of the Organization for the Study of the Juche Idea of Thailand, said the foundation of the WPK made it possible for the Korean people to hold the President in high esteem as the centre of unity and leadership and build a socialist power, independent in politics, self-supporting in national economy and self-reliant in defence.

Messages of greetings to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the events held in Thailand.
