Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- The British Branch of the Korean Friendship Association in a statement on October 2 supported the October 4 declaration.

The declaration, an embodiment of the idea of "By our nation itself", is an important landmark in achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea and carrying out the north-south cooperation, the statement said.

The south Korean authorities, however, are seeking the reckless hostile policy toward the DPRK in league with foreign forces including the U.S. and Japan, it noted.

They have totally denied the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration while cooking up various plots against the DPRK, it charged.

The statement expressed full support for the Korean people in the heroic struggle to get the U.S. forces withdrawn from south Korea.
