KCNA Accuses U.S. of Building Nuclear War Commanding System

Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- The U.S. is pushing forward its moves for establishing a system for commanding a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula in real earnest.

A core combined commanding system was established on Paekryong and Yonphyong islands to go operational from September 26. It is designed to let the south Korea-U.S. Combined Forces Command promptly monitor the situation on the spot and put command and control means under it.

Earlier, the U.S. provided E-737 known as "command in the sky" to south Korea. This plane is linked with the early warning system for nuclear and missile attacks in Taegu.

The U.S. has long pursued the strategy for rounding off the above-said system.

The above-said U.S. moves are pursuant to the strategy for preemptive attack in the new century.

The U.S. seeks to get the system for commanding a nuclear war of the U.S. forces in south Korea operated, independent of the commanding system of the U.S. Strategic Command. It is aimed to have in place a unified system for commanding a nuclear war which makes it possible to conduct a blitz warfare in "contingency".

As a matter of fact, the U.S. has already completed the operation and commanding system for a nuclear war centered on the Korean Peninsula.

The above-said commanding system of the U.S. is aimed at containing great powers in the Asia-Pacific region and holding supremacy in the region.

The DPRK can never remain a passive onlooker to the dangerous military moves sparking an arms race in the region and driving the situation to the brink of war.

The U.S. moves to round off the system are a blatant challenge to the peace and denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
