Anniversary of Kim Il Sung's Work Marked

Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held here on Thursday to mark the 40th anniversary of President Kim Il Sung's work "On Revolutionizing and Working-classizing Women".

The work, published on October 7, 1971, comprehensively clarifies the theoretical and practical issues arising in finally solving the issue of women.

The work indicates the tasks for helping women actively advance into society and for the women's union to do work well with masses and unite all the women close around the party.

Ro Song Sil, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Democratic Women's Union of Korea, said in a report that the President's work is important guidelines that indicate the orientation and ways for training women to be Juche-oriented revolutionaries and a militant banner to be consistently held aloft by the Union.

The feats he performed by paving a wide avenue for the final solution to the women's issue are shining more brilliantly under the leadership of Kim Jong Il, she noted, and went on:

The Korean women have grown to be persons of faith who consider it as their life and soul to devotedly defend the headquarters of the revolution and devoted themselves to the building of a thriving nation.

She called upon all the women to turn out in a general offensive to open a gate to a thriving nation, true to the Songun politics of the party.

Present there were Ri Yong Su, department director of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the C.C., DWUK, exemplary women officials and members of the union.
