U.S. Arms Sale to Taiwan Flayed

Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- The U.S. has kept selling arms to Taiwan despite strong opposition and protest from China.

Recently it decided to sell 5.852 billion U.S. dollar worth latest military equipment to Taiwan including those for improving the performance of F-16.

Last year, too, it consented to the arms sale plan of the Lockheed Martin Co., a military monopoly, to Taiwan.

The U.S. unabated arms sale clearly proves that it remains unchanged in its policy to chill the peaceful development of the cross-straits relations in China.

In July this year President Hu Jintao underscored the need to intensify the cross-straits exchanges and cooperation in all fields so as to promote the happiness of the Chinese compatriots and carve out the future of the Chinese nation.

May witnessed brisk cross-straits cooperation and exchanges evidenced by the first cross-straits service forum and the 7th cross-straits economic trade and cultural forum held in Taipei and Chengdo under co-sponsorship of commercial organizations of China and Taiwan.

The U.S. arms sale to Taiwan is touching off great protest and rebuff of the Chinese government with the cross-straits relations now entering the track of peaceful development.
