S. Korean Authorities' Humiliating Acts Denounced

Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification of south Korea held a press conference outside the Defense Ministry denouncing the authorities' humiliating sycophancy towards the U.S. on Sept. 30.

At the press conference the organization said some time ago whistleblower website WikiLeaks disclosed that south Korea would cover 93 percent of the expenses for the transfer of the U.S. base in south Korea.

When the public uproar mounted the Defense Ministry tried to evade the responsibility, claiming it was not true, the organization noted.

It dismissed as sophism the ministry's assertion that its decision to use even the illegally accumulated money for the upkeep of the U.S. forces in south Korea as expenses for the transfer of the U.S. base.

It disclosed that south Korea was expected to cover even the house rent for the families of U.S. forces, part of the expenses for the transfer of the U.S. base.

The U.S. pressurized south Korea to include the house rent for the families of U.S. forces in the list of the expenses for the upkeep of the U.S. forces and is now negotiating with south Korea over the issue, the organization noted.

It demanded a stern punishment of those who committed the above-said humiliating acts.

It is none other than the U.S. which created the present situation, the organization said, demanding an immediate stop to the transfer of the U.S. base.
