Pyongyang, October 5 (KCNA) -- An aide to the chief of the Palestinian National Authority in a press conference on October 2 strongly demanded the Israeli authorities stop the expansion of Jewish settlements.

The Palestinians conditioned the resumption of the direct peace talks with Israel with a complete cessation of settlement activities and an Israeli recognition of the 1967 borders, he said.

If Israel is truly interested in the peace talks, it has to be committed to the roadmap, the United Nations resolutions and the Arab peace initiative, he stressed.
