KCNA Blames U.S. for Deteriorating Situation on Korean Peninsula

Pyongyang, October 5 (KCNA) -- The situation on the Korean Peninsula is getting tenser, far from being defused.

The international community is concerned about the force that renders the regional situation instable. It is none other than the U.S.

The U.S. tightens military tie-up with south Korea and escalates confrontation with the DPRK.

The U.S. had confab with south Korea on a meeting on security policy initiative, a meeting of extended deterrence policy committee, the issue of regularizing combined mobile maneuvers and joint exercises in waters around five islands in the West Sea, the issue of amending missile guidelines for increasing weight of ballistic missile payload and its range, etc. It has staged with south Korea military exercises one after another, including joint live shell firing exercise, joint marine corps drill for improving logistic support and cooperation, a drill for mid-air refueling of south Korean fighters by a U.S. refueling tanker and anti-submarine exercise and field mobile exercises in areas along the Military Demarcation Line.

It even hurled its navy task force with the nuclear carrier George Washington as a flagship into south Korea, whipping up the anti-DPRK war hysteria of the south Korean puppet army.

It also set up a combined commanding system with the south Korean puppet forces on Paekryong and Yonphyong islands and put it into action on September 26.

All facts go to clearly prove who is chiefly to blame for pushing the inter-Korean relations to the phase of war and further bedeviling the situation in and around the Korean Peninsula.

The U.S. deeds do not match with its words, if a note is taken to its allegation that the authorities of the U.S. administration are least interested in the crisis on the peninsula.

With no rhetoric can it justify its war racket aimed to do harm to its dialogue partner, while paying lip-service to dialogue and negotiations.

This is a grave challenge to the sovereignty of the DPRK and peace in Asia and the rest of the world.

The U.S. is chiefly to blame for disturbing peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.

The situation on the peninsula is declining again to the phase of tension though it savored of appeasement. It was attributable to the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK and the south Korean warmongers' hysteria to invade the north, pursuant to it.

It convinces the DPRK once again it has no other option but to keep bolstering deterrent for self-defence to avert a war and defend peace on the Korean Peninsula.
