S. Korean Authorities' Unethical Attitude Censured

Pyongyang, October 5 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities disallowed the bereaved family of Presbyterian Pak Yong Gil and those concerned of the Funeral Committee of the south side to come to Kaesong, talking about "traditional funeral etiquette and feelings."

Minju Joson Wednesday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard:

It is beautiful manners and customs peculiar to the Korean nation to express condolences to neighbors and fellow countrymen when they suffer misfortunes.

The south Korean conservative group's disallowance can be committed only by those ignorant of ethics and morality. It was none other than the conservative group which brutally suppressed Pak Yong Gil and other south Koreans intending to visit Pyongyang to mourn the biggest loss for the Korean nation.

It is a mockery and insult to the deceased and her bereaved family for the above-said hooligans to talk about "traditional funeral etiquette and feelings."

There are not a few people pinning hope on the improved inter-Korean relations after the replacement of the minister of Unification in south Korea. But the conservative group is still working hard to escalate confrontation with fellow countrymen while calling for "adherence to principle" and "pre-condition." It disallowed the contact in Kaesong to mourn the death of Pak Yong Gil under an absurd pretext of "feelings," pursuant to its policy for confrontation with the DPRK. This proves that the conservative group remains unchanged in its "policy toward the north" and has no willingness to improve the inter-Korean relations.
