Pyongyang, October 3 (KCNA) -- The Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea Monday released information bulletin No. 981 slamming the south Korean puppet warmongers for tightening ever closer their military tie-up with the U.S. in a bid to provoke a war against the DPRK.

It said:

As already reported, the south Korean puppet warmongers held a meeting on security policy initiative, a meeting of the south Korea-U.S. extended deterrence policy committee and a working session for the transfer of the right to control wartime operations with the U.S. on Sept. 22 and 23 under the pretence of coping with "threat" from someone. They discussed on the issue of regularizing combined mobile maneuvers and joint exercises in waters around five islands on the West Sea and the issues of amending missile guidelines for increasing weight of ballistic missile payload and range and letting Global Hawk fly in the air over the Demilitarized Zone, etc. and other technical matters of intensifying the military provocations against the DPRK.

As soon as the warmongers wrapped up Ulji Freedom Guardian in August, they staged war exercises targeted against the DPRK in September one after another on the ground and in the seas and sky of south Korea. They included south Korea-U.S. joint live shell firing exercise, joint marine corps drill for improving logistic support and cooperation, a drill for mid-air refueling of south Korean fighters by a U.S. refueling tank and anti-submarine exercise and field mobile exercises in areas along the Demarcation Line.

A particular mention should be made of the facts that the U.S. mobilized new type tanks and armored cars in the exercises for the first time and a refueling tank of its air force based in Japan for the mid-air refueling exercise and even hurled a U.S. navy task force with the nuclear carrier George Washington as a flagship into south Korea, whipping up the war hysteria of the south Korean puppet army.

The south Korean warmongers decided to deploy the latest missiles of Spike NLOS on the five islands on the West Sea, talking about "precision strike" at targets of the north.

Meanwhile, they are getting frantic with arms buildup, talking about the development of latest weapons and military equipment, in the wake of their introduction of a new type AWACS.

The reckless military confrontation escalated by the puppet group in collusion with the U.S. is pushing the north-south relations to the brink of war while further straining the situation on the Korean Peninsula and in its vicinity.

It is busy perpetrating such grave military provocations in collusion with the U.S. while paying lip-service to "dialogue and peace." This goes to prove that the warmongers are only keen to escalate confrontation and ignite a war utterly indifferent to dialogue and peace.

The south Korean chief executive never misses a chance to utter "unification and common prosperity" but, in fact, he is keen on dangerous war moves to spark military conflicts and ignite a nuclear war.

The reality clearly shows that south Korea is the root cause of driving the north-south relations to catastrophe and rendering the regional situation extremely tense and the U.S. and south Korean puppet group are the arch criminals disturbing peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula.

The evermore frantic war moves in south Korea are intolerable as they are a product of the U.S. strategy for domination, the strategy to maintain its unchallenged position in the Korean Peninsula and the rest of Northeast Asia, and the criminal scenario of the south Korean puppet group to seek a way out of its crisis in escalating tension.

Military tension and armed conflict are inescapable as long as the U.S. pursues its strategy for domination over the peninsula and its vicinity and the puppet group seeks to realize the ambition for invasion of the DPRK, pursuant to it.

The present reality proves that it is entirely just for the DPRK to steadily bolster up deterrence for self-defence in order to prevent a war and protect peace on the Korean Peninsula.

Their war moves will only disturb the solution of the nuclear issue and spark arms race in the region.

The army and people of the DPRK will never remain a passive on-looker to their war moves but decisively counter them.

The U.S. and the south Korean puppet group of traitors would be well advised to behave themselves, pondering over the catastrophic consequences to be entailed by their moves for a war against the DPRK.
