Beijing, October 1 (KCNA) -- China on Sept. 29 heaved space laboratory module Tiangong-1 researched and manufactured by itself to put it on the expected orbit with success.

It was launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.

President Hu Jintao and other Chinese party and state senior officials watched the launch process at the Beijing Aerospace Flight Control Center and the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center and congratulated the successful launch.

Tiangong-1 has a length of 10.4 meters and maximum diameter of 3.35 meters.
