Japanese Government Urged to Opt for Settlement of Comfort Women Issue

Pyongyang, October 1 (KCNA) -- The Council for the Solution of the Issue of the Volunteers Corps in south Korea in a press release on Sept. 26 urged the Japanese government to opt to hold negotiations for solving the issue of comfort women.

Victims of the sexual slavery, who carried on the struggle demanding Japan's apology and reparation, are dying, but the Japanese government is persisting in its moves to evade the responsibility, the organization noted, and continued:

The international community had already branded Japan's sexual slavery as human rights abuses against humanity.

The organization said it cannot repress resentment at the Japanese government's brazenfaced claim that it fulfilled its responsibility to make reparation to the victims of the sexual slavery.

The Japanese government should sincerely opt for negotiations for solving the comfort women issue at an early date, it said.
