Transport Corridor Linking Korean Peninsula with Europe to Be Built: Official

Moscow, September 29 (KCNA) -- A transport corridor will be built to link the Korean peninsula with Europe, said the general director of the Russian Railway Company on Wednesday.

Addressing an opening ceremony of the 20th meeting of the coordinating council of Trans-Siberia transport, Vladimir Yakunin said Russia will build a most rational transport corridor to successfully match the sea cargo transport route through the Suez Canal.

The company is working out a plan to build a new cargo transport route -- Rajin Port-Tuman River-Khasan-Russian Railway Network-Europe, the general director said. In October a trial operation of train will take place between Rajin and Khasan where the infrastructure was reconstructed.
