Latin American Countries Demand U.S. Repeal Anti-Cuba Blockade

Pyongyang, September 30 (KCNA) -- Presidents of Latin American countries, Peru, Surinam, Paraguay, Bolivia and Guatemala, in their recent speeches at the UNGA session strongly demanded the United States stop at once the blockade against Cuba.

The U.S. unilateral sanctions and coercive steps against Cuba make the Cuban people's situation more difficult and hinder the development of the Latin American and Caribbean region, they said.

During the previous session of the UN General Assembly, only the United States and Israel voted against Cuba's resolution against the blockade, they noted, stressing that the end to the blockade against Cuba is the only way of world peace and reconciliation.

They reaffirmed the stand of the regional countries to make ceaseless efforts to have the U.S. lift the blockade.
