Korean Film Week Opens in Germany

Pyongyang, September 30 (KCNA) -- A Korean film week opened at the Babylon Cinema in Berlin on Sept. 24 on the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the DPRK and Germany.

Present there were personages of the German Foreign Ministry, the Federal Bundestag, various political parties and those of culture and media, citizens in Berlin, the DPRK ambassador to Germany and embassy staff members.

Uwe Schumelter, former director of the Northeast Asian Regional Office of the Goethe Institute of Germany, in a speech at the opening ceremony referred to the fact that over the past decade since the opening of the bilateral diplomatic relations the two countries have had brisk cooperation and exchanges in the field of culture, in cinematic art in particular, giving spurs to the development of bilateral relations. Germany will boost the ties between men of culture of the two countries and develop in depth the cooperation in the field of cinematic art.

Then, the participants watched the Korean feature film "Wheel of Happiness".
