Indonesian Paper Carries Travelogue on DPRK

Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- The Indonesian paper Kompas on September 20 and 21 carried a serial travelogue on the DPRK written by an Indonesian who visited the DPRK as member of a delegation of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle.

The strongest impression I got of the DPRK is that the Korean people are holding President Kim Il Sung, the founder of socialist Korea, in high esteem, the author said, and continued:

The President passed away but the Korean people boundlessly revere him and hold him in high esteem as the eternal President of the DPRK.

He quoted the words said by Megawati Soekarnoputri, general chairwoman of the Central Directive Council of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, after visiting various parts of the DPRK. She said: "I was impressed to learn that the DPRK has made leaping progress in a matter of a few years." "The miraculous achievements made in the construction of the Huichon Power Station, in particular, symbolizes Juche", she added.

Referring to the impression he got of Panmunjom, he wrote about the aftermath of the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule and the division of Korea by foreign forces.

The DPRK was compelled to have access to nuclear weapons to cope with the U.S. hostile policy and moves for aggression, the author said, stressing that the nuclear weapons of the DPRK are not aimed at attacking others but solely designed to defend the peace of the country.

The author also quoted the words of Megawati Soekarnoputri expressing belief that Korea would be surely reunified in the near future.
