Kim Chaek University of Technology

Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- Kim Chaek University of Technology in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is greeting its 63rd anniversary.

With deep insight into the significance of the training of scientists and technologists in building a new country, President Kim Il Sung founded the university on September 27, Juche 37 (1948).

He visited the university many times, guiding it to train a lot of scientists and technologists needed for socialist economic construction and always play a pivotal role in putting the national economy on a Juche-oriented, modern and scientific basis.

Leader Kim Jong Il provided field guidance to the university in September 2001 and January 2006, encouraging it to take the lead in developing IT in the country.

Under his deep care the university is furnished with up-to-date educational and scientific equipment and latest science books, as well as an e-library and multi-functional gymnasium.

Inspired by the deep concern of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, the university has made a big contribution to the scientific and technological development of the nation.

The university has steadily improved educational contents and methods as required by the IT age and applied latest research findings to teaching.

Many of its students are honored with the title of inventor, doctorate and scientific research prize.

Its students also prove successful in the national software contest of educational institutions held every year.

Graduates of the university are playing a big role in building a thriving nation.
