Table Clock Presented to Kim Jong Il by Japanese Delegation

Pyongyang, September 23 (KCNA) -- A table clock is on display at the International Friendship Exhibition House in the DPRK.

It is a gift presented to leader Kim Jong Il by an Aomori Prefectural delegation for Japan-DPRK friendship when it was visiting the DPRK in autumn of Juche 87 (1998).

The head of the delegation was the chairman of the Aomori Prefectural Assemblymen's League for the Promotion of Japan-Korea Friendship.

Through several visits to the DPRK, he got a good knowledge of the greatness of Kim Jong Il and the feats he performed for humankind.

Before coming to Pyongyang again to participate in celebrations of the 50th birthday of the DPRK, he and other league members prepared a table clock to present it to Kim Jong Il as a gift.

Warmly congratulating Kim Jong Il on his reelection as chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, they asked a DPRK official to convey the gift to the leader.

The round clock has a semicircular frame made of a 200-year-old maple tree.
