Lao President Visits Mangyongdae

Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- Choummaly Sayasone, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and president of Laos, visited Mangyongdae on Thursday.

He was accompanied by Thongloun Sisoulith, vice-prime minister and foreign minister of Laos and member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and chairman of the Committee for External Affairs of the LPRP, Bounpone Bouttanavong, member of the Political Bureau and secretary and secretary general of the C.C., the LPRP, Cheuang Sombounkhan, secretary of the LPRP Central Committee and chairman of the Propaganda and Education Ideological Committee, Phongsavath Boupha, minister and secretary general of the Presidency, Chansamone Chanyarath, member of the C.C., the LPRP and vice-minister of Defence, Chaleune Warinthrasak, Lao ambassador to the DPRK, and other suite members.

He was also accompanied by Kim Yong Il, alternate member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Pak Kun Gwang, vice department director of the C.C., the WPK, and Han Pong Ho, DPRK ambassador to Laos.

They looked round the historic relics preserved in the old home of President Kim Il Sung with keen interest, being briefed on the undying stories associated with the historic home.

They had a photo taken in front of the old home in Mangyongdae.

Choummaly Sayasone in a visitor's book wrote that Mangyongdae is a sacred place of the revolution where the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung of the Korean people was born.

He nurtured patriotism from his childhood and devoted his all to the Korean revolution. He founded the Juche idea and led the Korean people along the road of victory. Mangyongdae has become an ideological and educational center for teaching the future generations the revolutionary life of the President.

Choummaly Sayasone also visited the E-library at Kim Il Sung University, the Pyongyang Textile Mill and the Mansudae Art Studio.

He enjoyed a performance given by the members of the art group of the Mangyongdae School Children's Palace.
