Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) -- Sri Lanka started a joint naval exercise with India on Monday off the east coast of the island nation, said a media report.

The joint exercise, called "SLINEX 2", is aimed to improve the cooperation capacity between the two navies.

The exercise is involving eleven vessels from Sri Lanka and seven from India.
