International Day of Peace Marked in DPRK

Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) -- A meeting and photo exhibition took place in Pyongyang Wednesday to mark the International Day of Peace.

Present at the meeting were officials of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, the National Peace Committee of Korea, the Korean Committee for Solidarity with the World People and the Korean Doctors' Association for Peace against War and working people in Pyongyang.

Speakers at the meeting said that world peace is now seriously threatened and strongly demanded actions against the moves to knock into shape the tri-angular military alliance grouping the U.S., Japan and south Korea and for the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Northeast Asia.

They stressed the need for the peace-loving people and organizations to strengthen the unity and intensify the international solidarity movement for Korea's reunification and world peace and security.

Prior to the meeting, the participants looked round photos showing the happy Korean people hastening the building of a thriving socialist nation and the solidarity activities with world people.
