Letter to Kim Jong Il from Participants in Int'l Symposium

Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il received a letter from the participants in the international symposium held in Pyongyang in commemoration of Kim Il Sung University's 65th anniversary on Wednesday.

The letter noted that the symposium marked a meaningful occasion as it helped open-heartedly exchange each other's successes and experience and had wide-ranging discussions on the ways to conduct more brisk international cooperation in the field of education and science amid deep concern of Kim Jong Il.

The symposium showed in practice that the university has turned into one of the centers for international academic exchange under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and made a positive contribution to the sound development of the human education and science, it stressed.

The participants in the international symposium confirmed the common understanding that to boost cooperation and exchange with the DPRK's universities and research institutes is of great significance not only for the DPRK and various countries which took part in the symposium but also in achieving development and prosperity common to mankind, the letter said, adding that they, at the same time, expressed their will to strengthen wide-ranging multi-faceted academic exchange and cooperation with the DPRK in building a thriving nation.

The letter manifested the conviction that thanks to the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il and the positive efforts of the hard-working Korean people who are closely united around him, the DPRK will hit the high goal of building a thriving nation in the near future, concluded the letter.
