Beijing, September 18 (KCNA) -- Vice-President Xi Jinping of China called for properly carrying on the work with old cadres.

Addressing a national meeting held in Beijing on September 15 to give official commendations to those who proved successful in the work with old cadres, Xi said that veteran cadres had made a great, historic contribution to the revolution and construction in the country.

He called on Communist Party committees and government organs concerned should seriously review what they have achieved in the work with old cadres and make fresh success in the work.
