Flood Damage in Thailand, Brazil

Pyongyang, September 17 (KCNA) -- Flood damage caused by heavy rains is expanding in northern and central Thailand.

82 persons were killed and 635 schools inundated as of Sept. 13.

Downpour fell in southern Santa Catarina State of Brazil for recent consecutive days, causing flood damage.

Three persons were killed, 162 200 inhabitants evacuated and at least 15 000 persons homeless. A total of the victims is about one million.

An emergency was declared in the afflicted areas and relief steps are being taken.
