Regional Cooperation in Fight against Crimes Called for

Pyongyang, September 15 (KCNA) -- Algeria's delegate minister for Maghreb and African affairs, Abdelkader Messahel, recently called for strengthened cooperation between Africa's Sahel countries (Algeria, Mali, Mauritania and Niger) and their regional partners.

"We are fully aware that countering such big threats (terrorism, organized crime and underdevelopment) requires the combination of efforts and the cooperation of all good wills," he said.

He said that "the active and effective" partnership aspired by the core countries may bring appropriate answers to their needs in terms of training, the reinforcement of their capacities, the share of information, the supply of specific equipment in parallel with the implementation of development projects benefiting the most vulnerable populations.
