Pyongyang, September 14 (KCNA) - Leader Kim Jong Il on Wednesday sent a birthday spread to Hong Mun Go, pro-reunification patriotic fighter, on his 90th birthday.

Born in Songyo District, Pyongyang, before liberation, Hong devoted himself to building a new country after President Kim Il Sung liberated the country and struggled for the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

He was arrested by the enemy while struggling for reunification.

He had stood firm against the enemy's appeasement and brutal torture for imposing ideological conversion behind bars for 37 years with profound trust in Kim Il Sung and confidence in the victory of the revolution.

Leader Kim Jong Il made sure that high state commendations including the title of Hero of the Republic and National Reunification Prize were conferred upon him, who had remained true to his revolutionary principle, and repeatedly showed all sorts of warm loving care for him.
