Pyongyang, September 13 (KCNA) -- Heavy rains hit the northern and central parts of Thailand for the recent several consecutive days, causing damage.

The flood and landslides caused by heavy rains left 78 persons dead as of September 9. They also brought the production at enterprises to suspension and destroyed a large area of farmland.

Relief work is now under way in the afflicted areas.
